Rama Pathi, MD FACS

Rama Pathi, MD, FACS, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and the only board-certified hand surgeon in the High Desert area. Dr. Pathi brings more than 30 years of orthopedic and sports medicine experience and a refined, updated approach to treatment to his practice, High Desert Orthopedics in Apple Valley, California. 

Dr. Pathi began his extensive training at Stanley Medical College in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. There, he earned his medical degree as well as Master of Surgery in general surgery. After graduation, he moved to Brooklyn, New York, to complete a surgery internship at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island, commonly known as Coney Island Hospital. He remained in Brooklyn to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at Kings County Hospital. 

Relocating to Denver, Colorado, Dr. Pathi continued his education with a fellowship in orthopedics, sports medicine, and hand surgery at the Denver Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic. There, he learned the complex techniques of orthopedic reconstructive surgery and hand surgery from Mack L. Clayton, MD, renowned orthopedic surgeon and team physician of the NFL’s Denver Broncos at the time.

Dr. Pathi is an active member of the medical community with more than 14 publications in the field of orthopedics and sports medicine. He’s also had the honor of presenting his research at multiple scientific conferences and has served as clinical professor at the University of Colorado.
